Puppy Food Water Schedule
The best way to start potty training your pup is by incorporating a potty schedule to teach your pup where to go on the right spot, and how to hold it!
Puppy food water schedule. Take the total amount of food your puppy needs each day and divide that into a series of smaller feedings. Once you know the daily feeding amount, you need to create a puppy feeding schedule. Empty the water dish and wash it with detergent.
Puppies can hold their bladder for as many hours as they are months old. Empty and rinse the dish. Any longer than that and she just won’t be able to hold it.
Get your puppy used to a daily schedule that includes their feeding and water times, play and training times, potty breaks, and naptimes. The next step after establishing a good dog feeding schedule is a having a schedule for offering fresh water to your dog. Change the water daily and wash out the bowl.
After a month or six weeks on the food, assess your puppy’s health. Immediately after feeding, bring puppy outside to relieve himself. Choose food that has a named protein in the the first couple of slots on the label such as chicken, chicken meal.
Once your dog has been housetrained, it’s perfectly fine to leave water out and available for them 24/7. This is the stage when puppies start to develop teeth and naturally begin spending more time away from their mothers. A puppy fed dry kibbles (which contain around 10% water) will need to drink more than one fed with wet food (which contains at least 75% water).
Here’s a sample puppy water schedule: They should be playful and energetic, with a shiny, thick coat. Leave the food down for no longer than 15 minutes.
