Gunsmith Cats is a series of manga and anime work by Kenichi Sonoda. This 1995 OVA rather then start adapting the manga from page 1 or choosing the very best of Sonodas stories decided to create an anime original plot. The anime adaption amounts to a three-part OVA that was produced by OLM Inc of Pokémon and Berserk fame.

Better than the manga better than a lot of anime.

Gunsmith cats manga review. Its a rousing intricate story that is always building to a climax and its centered around a wonderful pair of complex capable heroines. Anyway Gunsmith Cats as an anime delivers much of what its manga predecessor offers hey none of that now although the three episodes seem more like an appetizer than a main course. There is also a five-volume sequel series Gunsmith Cats Burst.

Gunsmith Cats the OAV is based on Sonoda Kenichis manga series but is even better. Based on the manga comic of the same name Gunsmith Cats is set in a surprisingly realistic Chicago and features the bounty huntergunsmith Rally Vincent and her grenade-obsessed partner May Hopkins. To cut a long story short after many violent and admittedly well-stylized shootout scenes in which Rally and May display an impressive capacity for violence and indiscriminate destruction it turns out that MAJOR SPOILER INCOMING the mole and indeed the mastermind behind the gun-running gang was the senator the whole time.

The storys pacing is sure and steady starting with what seems. Gunsmith Cats is all about guns muscle cars and sexy girls. Gunsmith Cats maybe still holds that cult status now even after the internet has no doubt introduced more folks to this mid-90s OVA.

So too the Kickstarter campaign that funded a re-issue a few years back now I love so much about this series but Im torn when it comes to rating Gunsmith Cats. Fans will be delighted to see Rally May Becky and most of the other regulars of Gunsmith Cats. It was printed on quality paper and for most part was a very well received series.

The story centers on two young women 19-year old Irene Rally Vincent and her partner 17-year old Minnie May Hopkins. One day Bill Collins an agent for the Chicago branch of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives blackmails Rally. The adventures of the Gunsmith Cats were spectacular.
