Not the worst thing to see if you like this type of film but it can feel redundant after a while. Flesh tones are one of the major strengths as they are spot on and colors pop nicely with good saturation. At its best the monochrome image is sharp and detailed and features beautiful black levels crisp whites and wonderfully applied contrast.
Though the liner notes claim a 1661 aspect ratio the transfer actually boasts a 1851 image in 1080p resolution using the AVC codec. Very nice Animal House has always had a dark and grainy picture but this new scan has really elevated the image from the Blu-ray easily besting it in terms of colour. The film takes on a pinkish cooler hue that does not seem to be present on a previous Cinestrange Blu-ray release.
